Seminar – University of Waikato, NZ

This morning I delivered my first seminar at the University of Waikato in New Zealand. Although the university is essentially on it’s summer break there were still 25 lecturers to discuss my presentation education in England: All change…

I was introduced by John Williams my main contact here. John is head of the TENS Research Centre and one of the co-organisers of the PATT conference which I am attending from 1 December.

From the new Zealand perspective, the changes happening to out schools, curriculum and teacher education systems were clearly hard to understand. As committed educators they were, not surprisingly, disturbed by what was going on and raised a lot of questions. Several people asked for contact details and are likely to be in touch to find more specific details on a subject basis.

Overall the seminar was a real success and will certainly help in making links between LJMU and Waikato.
